On June 11, Art Center Nabi, Korea’s first museum dedicated to media art, will begin a new chapter under the direction of Noh So-Young, relocating from the SK Group headquarters to an independent building in Sagan-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

To mark its reopening, Art Center Nabi will present 《A Pregnant Pause》, a solo exhibition by kinetic installation artist Han Jinsu. The exhibition will feature a range of paintings and kinetic installations that explore “the expression of latent vitality,” capturing moments where the past, present, and future intersect.

According to Art Center Nabi, “The reopening exhibition marks a new beginning in an independent environment, following our move to a standalone building in Sagan-dong, where the entire structure will operate as a museum space.” The institution added, “From this new base, we aim to grow into a future-oriented cultural platform where technology and nature, art and the urban environment, intersect.”

The museum also announced that four additional exhibitions are scheduled for this year, alongside a series of forums, seminars, and talk concerts.

Art Center Nabi, Korea’s first institution dedicated to media art, traces its roots to the Walkerhill Museum of Art. In December 2000, it relocated to the SK Group headquarters in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and was relaunched under the name Art Center Nabi.

Since then, the institution has continually explored and experimented with the intersections of contemporary art and technology through exhibitions, research initiatives, public programs, and international exchange projects.

In recent years, it has further expanded its scope to engage with emerging dialogues that connect quantum science, art, philosophy, and the sensory dimensions of nature.

Now, after closing a chapter spanning 26 years, Art Center Nabi opens the doors to its new home in Sagan-dong and embarks on yet another new chapter.
