An archive book, “Re:spect Media Art of Korea since 2000,” documenting the journeys of Korea’s leading media artists, has been published.

This book is part of the media artist archive project “Re:spect Media Art of Korea since 2000,” jointly organized by Art Center Nabi, Korea’s first specialized media art institution, and ALICEON, Korea’s first media art-focused platform.

Conducted from May to October 2023, the project was designed to reconsider the generalized or distorted perceptions of contemporary media art by focusing on the “journeys of the artists.”

The project featured artist talks with 18 leading media artists or collectives representing Korea’s media art scene. The contents of these talks have been compiled and are accessible via Art Center Nabi’s YouTube playlist and the LAB category on the ALICEON website

As the final output of the project, the book “Re:spect Media Art of Korea since 2000” reexamines the value and significance of Korean media artists. It also lays a foundation for exploring new perspectives and discourses that synthesize insights from individuals, technology, and society.
