The Seoul Museum of Art is presenting the thematic exhibition 《Earth, Once More: Responding with a New Sensibility》 at the Art Archives Seoul Museum of Art through February 22, 2026. Linked to the museum’s 2025 curatorial agenda, “Planet,” the exhibition explores the social responsibilities of art in the era of climate crisis and seeks transformative practices.

It raises questions about what art can address and how it can act in response to the climate crisis, while opening pathways toward new directions. Focusing especially on the performativity of artistic practice, the exhibition considers possibilities for moving beyond anthropocentrism and engaging with art from ‘other’ perspectives and attitudes. In doing so, it revisits art’s modes of existence, social roles, and responsibilities in the climate crisis era, while sharing creative reflections on the future beyond the Anthropocene.

The participating artists present fresh approaches that explore artistic practice and its sustainability. Moving away from the endless cycle of producing new works, they propose sustainable modes of creation through methodologies of reinterpretation and reconfiguration.

At the same time, they experiment with approaches grounded in ecological sensitivity and eco-ethical attitudes, while extending their inquiries beyond the field of art through collaborations with other disciplines. In doing so, they offer an integrated understanding of the Earth’s ecosystems and planetary systems.

During the exhibition period, the artist talk program “Earth Relay” offers audiences opportunities to engage with the exhibition and works in a participatory way through conversations, workshops, and performances.

In parallel, the Seoul Museum of Art Archives puts into practice climate-conscious actions to become a “museum in solidarity with the Earth.” To conserve resources and promote sustainability, the exhibition avoids building temporary partition walls, makes use of mostly recyclable materials, and operates at a lower density compared to previous shows.
