PS CENTER
presents a group exhibition 《Bloom》 on view through May 7.
No flower
blooms in order to appear beautiful to the world. A flower simply blooms in
order to exist. The act of pushing up from its own body to blossom is not an
ornament for others, but closer to an instinct to become whole in itself. What
we perceive as beauty arises from our own gaze; the flower itself may have
little interest in being admired.

The
exhibition 《Bloom》 begins from this perspective, seeking
to view flowers beyond the familiar framework of aesthetics. The nine
participating artists do not treat flowers as mere objects of visual
appreciation, but as images that newly emerge between imagination and reality.
For them,
“blooming” extends beyond the moment when petals open; it is closer to a point
at which sensation and meaning come into being. Although flowers do not serve a
clear function, it is precisely within this state of purposelessness that their
artistic value is revealed.

The flowers
shaped by the artists’ hands invite us to linger with a more self-aware gaze,
prompting us to reconsider our intimate desires and the visibility of our own
existence as reflected in the image of the flower. Within these scenes of quiet
yet intense blooming, the meaning of familiar beauty is newly revealed.
