PS CENTER presents 《Lex Talionis》, featuring works by Kim
Wooyoung, Jang Sijae, and WKND Lab, on view through March 25. The exhibition is
being held simultaneously at PS CENTER and COSO.
The exhibition 《Lex
Talionis》 expands the ancient principle of “an eye for
an eye, a tooth for a tooth” into the context of the contemporary city,
addressing the actions and reactions that cities and humans impose upon one
another, as well as the questions of responsibility and balance embedded within
these dynamics.
It draws attention to the fact that a city,
which may appear to be a perfectly engineered structure, is in reality an open
site in constant transformation—shaped by the irregular lives and encounters of
its inhabitants. The exhibition explores the points at which the physical
environment intersects with human emotions, memories, and acts of resistance.
Through distinct media and approaches,
Wooyoung Kim, Sijae Jang, and WKND Lab reveal the order and fissures of the
city, as well as the circulation of materials within it, prompting reflection
on the complex relationships we form with urban space.
