The Buk-Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) presents
《Electric Shock》, an exhibition
that explores the urgent relationship between technology and the environment
through the theme of “electricity,” on view through March 22, 2026.
《Electric Shock》 focuses
on the current reality in which electricity has evolved beyond a mere energy
source to become a determining instrument of power. The exhibition offers an
in-depth look at the social and environmental issues surrounding electricity
and seeks to expose the ecological fissures obscured behind technology through
the circuit of “electricity.”

This exhibition features five media artists and collectives—Line
of Piers, Kim Woojin, Park Yena, Song Yehwan, and eobchae—who have long
examined technology and offered multifaceted reflections on the world around
us.
《Electric Shock》 is organized into two chapters, presenting
the stages of technology and the environment from both present and future
perspectives in a multidimensional way.

Chapter 1 addresses issues of technology and the environment
from a present-day perspective, raising fundamental questions about our
attitudes toward these problems and the human-centered thinking that underlies
them.
Meanwhile, Chapter 2 presents experimental works based on an
imagined premise of an “electricity blackout.” By visualizing the potential
disasters we may face in the future, this chapter attempts to subvert
established ways of thinking.
