Artist_News Artist Eugene Jung Named to ‘Forbes Asia 30 Under 30’ List for 2025
Eugene Jung (b. 1995), a young Korean sculptor, has been named to the ‘2025 Forbes Asia 30 Under 30’ list. Published annually by the American media company Forbes, the ‘30 Under 30’ highlights 30 individuals under the age of 30 who are making notable contributions across various fields.
Artist_News ‘The Home’ by BOO Jihyun, Permanently Installed at Uno Port, Setouchi, Japan
Korean artist BOO Jihyun, the sole Korean participant in the Setouchi Triennale 2025, has permanently installed her large-scale installation The Home at Uno Port in Setouchi, Japan.
Born in 1979 on Jeju Island, BOO Jihyun has continued to create works that amplify her autobiographical memories and experiences of the sea, visually reconstructing them within space to awaken aesthetic sensibilities. The artist reinterprets the use of fishing lamps and other objects by creating atmospheric and immersive installations to materialize the intangible elements of the sea, such as darkness, sound, and the horizon.
Biennale_News Binna Choi Appointed as Artistic Director for the 61st Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion
The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) has appointed curator Binna Choi as the Artistic Director for the Korean Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) in 2026.
Binna Choi previously served as a curator for the 2016 Gwangju Biennale and as a co-artistic director for the 2022 Singapore Biennale. She was the Director of Casco Art Institute in the Netherlands from 2008 to 2023. She is currently serving as a co-artistic director for the Hawai‘i Triennial 2025, which runs until May 4 this year.

A special exhibition of Korean art,《Treasures of Korea: Collected, Cherished, Shared》, is currently on view at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C. This exhibition marks the first stop of an international tour based on the collection donated by the late Lee Kun-hee. Gallery_Global K-Art 《Kang Seok Ho: Hold Still》, "The winter sea the eyes have seen is wider than itself."
Tina Kim Gallery is presenting《Kang Seok Ho: Hold Still》, the gallery’s second solo exhibition of the late Korean artist, currently on view from November 20, 2025 through January 24, 2026. Bringing together Kang’s ‘Couple’ and ‘Nude’ paintings—created between the mid-2010s and 2021—the exhibition traces the artist’s sustained engagement with the human figure as a site for exploring painterly surface, materiality, and form.
