Project Space
Sarubia is presenting Sla Joo’s solo exhibition 《Lost Signal》 through June 19.
Centered
around the artist’s new works, the exhibition approaches the city as a space
where time, memory, and sensation overlap, while exploring the unstable signals
concealed within it.

《Lost Signal》 expands upon Sla Joo’s science fiction novel of the same title into
the form of an exhibition environment. Set in a future where all aspects of
daily life are controlled by a central urban system, the novel follows a
rupture in space-time that emerges in the middle of the city and the
individuals drawn into its aftermath.
At the
entrance staircase, portable projectors randomly selected by visitors serve as
clues that visualize the stories of three individuals — Mijin, Haeun, and
Suyeon — whom the system has recorded as “missing.” Beginning with these
traces, visitors are invited to follow trajectories of light in order to
uncover the hidden remnants concealed beneath the seemingly perfect system.
