The exhibition Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s–1970s, opened on September 1 at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York and will run until January 7 of the following year.
This exhibition is the result of joint research conducted by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and the Guggenheim since 2018. The exhibition is co-curated by Kyung An, Associate Curator of Asian Art at the Guggenheim, and Kang Soojung, Senior Curator at the MMCA in Seoul.

Curator Kyung An recently engaged in an interview with the contemporary art media and platform Ocula, delving into the behind-the-scenes preparations for the exhibition. Curator An earned her Ph.D. in Korean art from the University of London’s Courtauld Institute of Art in 2014. From 2019 to 2021, An served as a curatorial research fellow at the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, where she studied experimental artistic practice in Korea in the 1960s and 1970s with curator Kang Soojung.
