Hoam Museum of Art presents 2026 Art Spectrum 《ARoomWhereEveryRadioIsTunedtoDifferentStations》 on view through December 27.
Through 63 works by 23 artists and collectives working across
visual art, architecture, film, design, music, and other fields in Korea and
across Asia, this exhibition explores artistic practices from diverse regions
of Asia that resist being defined by any singular identity, as well as the
possibility for different sensibilities and temporalities to resonate with one
another.
Launched by Leeum Museum of Art in 2001, Art Spectrum has
established itself as a platform for discovering and supporting emerging Korean
artists.
In 2024, the program entered a new phase, expanding its scope to
include artists from across Asia and fostering new forms of international
collaboration. Presented at Hoam Museum of Art for the first time, 2026 Art
Spectrum is co-curated with Palais de Tokyo (est. 2002).

The 2026 edition of Art Spectrum takes its first presentation at
Hoam Museum of Art as an opportunity to reconsider the existing conditions that
have shaped both the institution and the program.
These questions extend to how diverse contemporary practices might
intervene in the solemn and refined spaces of Hoam Museum of Art; how Art
Spectrum might expand beyond its established framework of discovering and
supporting emerging artists; and how artistic practices shaped by different
cultural and social contexts might be brought into dialogue under the regional
rubric of “Asia.”
It explores what might emerge when different practices are brought
into proximity without being bound to a single voice. To this end, the
exhibition brings together artists and collectives working across visual art,
film, performance, architecture, design, music, fashion, and publishing.
Extending across the museum’s interior and exterior spaces, the
exhibition creates a dynamic and multilayered field of energy, exploring how
artistic practices from different parts of Asia might resonate with one another
without being subsumed under a fixed identity.

Emerging from distinct linguistic, historical, technological,
sensory, political, and social positions, the participating artists maintain
their singularity while remaining open to hearing one another.
Their practices bring forth dreams with layers of history and
culture; frustrated heroes; broken windows; diasporic vessels with wheels and
sprays; machines as extensions of the body; intestines and holes; artificial
natures; fences and leaps; fogs, bubbles and dust. Together, these encounters
transform interruption into a collective dynamic.
The exhibition makes extensive use of both the interior and
outdoor spaces of the Hoam Museum of Art, where architecture and nature are
interwoven. In particular, 26 of the 63 works on view are newly commissioned
works created specifically for the exhibition in response to the spatial
characteristics of the Hoam Museum of Art.
