SONGEUN is presenting 《Jong Oh: Sinking, Sitting》, a solo
exhibition by Jong Oh, one of the artists invited to the 2026 “Groundwork: The
Bunker Room Presentations,” through October 10 in the Bunker Room on the second
basement level.
《Jong Oh: Sinking, Sitting》 begins with the
small comma placed between the two words in its title. Just as the word
”sitting“ lies submerged within ”sinking“ and resurfaces after a comma to
reveal its distinct outline, the artist creates subtle gaps between things too
close or alike to be distinguished.

By finely adjusting nearly imperceptible conditions—the
thickness of a thread, the elasticity of a rod, light, and materiality—Oh
explores the point at which distinct forms remain separate while allowing their
differences to emerge.
In this exhibition, this carefully calibrated distance expands
to the size of a room. As you walk between the lines—resembling each other like
shadow and copy yet never fully coinciding—we invite you to experience the
interval of exquisite measure quietly compressed by the artist.
