DrawingRoom is presenting 《Winds》, the first solo exhibition by Cho
Eunhyung, selected for the gallery’s 2026 Emerging Artist Support Program,
through May 30.
Beginning with a single recorded word, the artist gradually
constructs each composition, allowing the word to spread across the surface as
though staining the image itself. The forms that emerge within the flow created
by her brushstrokes originate from the artist’s memories and sensations, yet
they do not point toward a fixed narrative, instead leaving behind tactile
impressions.
Within Cho’s unfamiliar yet delicate paintings, we encounter
figures imbued with subtle breaths — or “winds.”

In this exhibition, Cho Eunhyung presents a new body of
paintings grounded in the sensory experience of “wind” as a natural element,
approaching painting on an existential level.
“For me, nature is above all a means of transparently
revealing the present — a presence that allows things to be accepted as they
are. The wind, constantly changing its form from moment to moment, makes me
sense that I am here. In that alone, I find a certain sense of ‘being okay.’”
