DrawingRoom presents Roh Choong-Hyun’s solo exhibition, 《Scenery along the Edge》, on view until March 8. Roh has long captured fleeting moments of life while drifting through the city of Seoul, consistently translating urban spaces closely intertwined with his own life onto the canvas.

This exhibition serves as a continuation of his 2021 solo show 《Shade》, which depicted scenes from Hongjecheon, and features 16 new works. The paintings in this exhibition encapsulate the atmosphere and sentiment of Seoul as perceived through a sense of distanced observation.

Just as the artist wanders through urban landscapes, contemplating and witnessing change, his paintings also traverse the transitions between seasons and the flow of life. As viewers follow the imagery of Hongjecheon, they may find themselves arriving at a vague yet familiar moment buried within their own memories.
