Amado Art
Space presents 《The 13th Amado Annualnale》 through May 10.
“Amado
Annualnale” is a project that began as the opening exhibition of Amado Art
Space in 2013, with the aim of creating exhibitions that attend to the diverse
discourses arising from artistic creation and working processes.
Over the past
twelve editions, the Amado Annualnale project has engaged with the
relationships and collaborations among participating agents—primarily artists
and curators—while tracing the nodal points within these processes and the
discourses that emerge from them.
As the
generative and continually evolving dynamics of creation and mediation are
inherently fleeting, the project seeks to render them visible by passing
through the format of the exhibition and its temporary spatiotemporal frame, as
well as through the specific forms and attitudes embodied in artworks.

However,
although this project foregrounds process as an object of artistic production,
the fundamental aim of the Amado Annualnale does not lie in fixing upon process
as a procedure directed toward a predefined goal, nor in settling on a
particular outcome derived from it.
Instead,
through the “Nansang” Roundtable program, it draws all stages—before and after
the exhibition—into a field of critical discourse, thereby preparing the ground
for further processes that may be triggered through this engagement with
“process” itself.
Since 《The 9th Amado Annualnale》 (2021), the
project has shifted to an open call based on artist–curator teams. In doing so,
it has continuously sought to foreground the relationships formed among
collaborative agents and to extend these exchanges, bringing into the
discursive arena not only the exhibition itself but also the broader contexts
and conversations that unfold beyond the exhibition space.

Marking its
13th edition, 《The 13th Amado Annualnale》 presents the
unfolding “processes” of four selected teams from last year’s open call:
goyoson (artist) × Moon Hyun Jeoung (curator), Yesul Kim (artist) × Kang Subin
(curator), Jin Woo (artist) × Bea Jinseon (curator), and Lee Jiyoon (artist) ×
Kang Dawon (curator).
The
exhibition traces the extended journey of these teams—from the initial stages
of preparing and submitting their proposals to the realization of the
exhibition—while also revealing what their shared trajectory has been directed
toward and what it may continue to become.
The “Nansang”
Roundtable will take place on May 2 from 2 pm to 6 pm at Amado Lab. Further
details and registration information can be found via Amado Art Space’s social
media channels.
