《Fake Nostalgia》,
featuring works by Asaran Jeong, Jongsuk Lee, and Saebin Hoh, is an
experimental platform that attempts to probe the truthfulness of nostalgia
constructed upon an idealized past. The exhibition reveals the utopian images
of the past and the spectacle produced by selectively edited mechanisms of
memory, guiding viewers to sense the boundary between illusion and reality.
An approach to the boundary of non-original
virtuality functions as an act that repositions viewers, deprived of autonomous
choice, back into the role of subjects. An occasion to sense the layered
boundaries within memory as a resistance of selective mechanisms of remembrance
and ideological narratives.
