The Sungkok Art Museum presents the exhibition 《In Portrait: Sungkok Art Museum 2025》 through December 7 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Since opening its doors in November 1995, the museum has established itself as one of Korea’s leading private art museums, fostering communication with society through art and broadening the reach of culture. Over the past three decades, the museum has surveyed the trajectory of Korean contemporary art, discovered promising artists, and consistently organized scholarly research and educational programs.

Moon Soon Park, Director of the Sungkok Art Museum, stated that through the exhibition 《In Portrait: Sungkok Art Museum 2025》, “we look back on the footsteps of the past 30 years and aim to further strengthen our role as a museum that realizes the social value of art.”

The exhibition presents works by both Korean and international artists, each capturing the museum’s “present” from different perspectives. Rather than serving merely as a commemoration of the past, the exhibition documents and interprets the museum’s here and now through the language of contemporary art.

Through this approach, the exhibition 《In Portrait: Sungkok Art Museum 2025》 reflects on how art remembers and gives meaning to time and space, while offering a renewed perspective on the relationship between the museum and society.
