Art Museum presents Soyoun Jeong’s solo exhibition, “The Pink Moment”, as part
of its 2024 exhibition with established artists, until October 27.
For the
past 30 years, Jeong has been using various media, including videos, paintings,
and installations, to capture the current era in which images have so often
replaced reality. The exhibition spans all all the way from her early works in
video installation to some of her most recent paintings, and focuses on the
“pink moment” that seems more real than reality.

Moment” aims to highlight the sensation of virtual images replacing reality
through Soyoun Jeong’s works. The artist has observed that myriad visual images
are omnipresent and have an absolute influence on the public’s social
awareness. Consequently, she questions the structures of myths and
relationships with specific power entities beyond reality as she continuously
explores a wide range of representational systems.
And, in
her early works, which originated from her personal narrative, Jeong focused on
keywords such as women, marriage, and sexuality—topics that are personal to a
woman—while explaining different aspects of society at the same time.
