Hoam Museum of Art will present “Nicolas
Party: Dust”, the first solo exhibition in Korea by Swiss-born contemporary
artist Nicolas Party, one of the most prominent contemporary artists working
today, from August 31 to January 19 next year.
One of the exhibitions to watch during the
Frieze Seoul fair, “Nicolas Party: Dust,” showcases the work of Nicolas Party,
who has garnered global attention for his unique figurative paintings and
large-scale pastel murals that challenge conventions of representation in the
history of art.
The exhibition will center on the theme of
longevity and extinction of nature, civilization, and both human and non-human
species. The theme, while resonating with the environment of Hoam where nature
and culture coexist in close harmony, is intriguingly linked with the inherent
transience of pastels.
The
exhibition will present more than 80 works including five pastel murals drawn
directly on the museum’s lobby and gallery walls, numerous landscapes, still
lifes, portraits, sculptures, and a collection of traditional Korean art,
creating an immersive environment for the visitors. You can book tickets for
