Arts Council Korea (ARKO) will operate the 2026 ARKO Art Studio program, following its 2025 launch, with the aim of fostering global artistic production and cultural exchange.

During its pilot year in 2025, ARKO Art Studio attracted numerous international art professionals and curators from Asia, Europe, and beyond, who visited the studios and built networks with the resident artists. Throughout and following the residency period, participating artists have continued their practices through various international activities, including solo exhibitions abroad.

ARKO Art Studio goes beyond providing studio space alone. By facilitating curator matching and expanding networks among artists, artworks, and both domestic and international art communities, the program serves as a vital platform connecting creators with the broader contemporary art ecosystem.

ARKO Art Studio is located at 5, Pyeongchang 31-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and operates five private studios ranging from 31㎡ to 52㎡, all equipped with wireless internet access.

The residency is divided into two sessions: March–July 2026 (Session 3) and August–December 2026 (Session 4). For each session, ARKO will select five domestic and international visual artists, who will be paired with curators and supported through the program.

Resident artists will have access to a wide range of programs, including K-culture tours, professional curator matching, studio visits, open studios, networking events, roundtable discussions, and exhibitions. All residents will receive individual studio space, production support, and living expenses. For international artists, round-trip airfare and accommodation will be provided separately.
