This exhibition is the homecoming presentation of the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, following its seven-month run. As with the original pavilion exhibition, it is curated by the architecture curatorial collective CAC (Curating Architecture Collective: Chung Dahyoung, Kim Heejung, and Jung Sungkyu), with participating architects Kim Hyunjong, Heechan Park, Young Yena, and Lee Dammy.

The Korean Pavilion at the 19th Venice Biennale drew attention for adopting a co–artistic director system following the 2023 Architecture Exhibition, and for being led by the youngest team of curators to date.

《Little Toad, Little Toad: Unbuilding Pavilion》 marks the 30th anniversary of the pavilion’s construction, revisiting its history through the lens of “home.” Rather than treating the pavilion as a neutral exhibition venue, this exhibition considers it an organic entity layered with multiple meanings, tracing its origins while exploring possible futures.

The exhibition is newly composed for a different context from Venice. In Gallery 1, visitors can explore archival materials on the architecture and exhibition history of the Korean Pavilion, along with works that critically re-edit and reinterpret these materials. This space will also function as a public forum, hosting a total of eight related programs. Gallery 2 presents how the participating artists interpret the conditions of the Korean Pavilion and expand them from a transnational perspective.
