GALLERY2 presents a two-person exhibition 《Dear Ghayoung》 by Goyoson and Oh Kai, on
view through February 28.
《Dear
Ghayoung》 is an attempt
to transform absence as a form of lack into purposeless affection still
directed toward someone. The exhibition responds to pressing contemporary
questions about conditions of existence established only within relationships,
and the ethics of assuming responsibility for another's vulnerability.

Oh Kai explores the sensory fatigue of living amid digital
images and algorithms, the ways the female body is consumed and exposed, and
the resulting fissures in self-perception. Goyoson gives sculptural form to
structures that sustain desire, imagination, and unstable emotion, extending
the language of sculpture into one of relation and support.
Where Oh Kai's autonomous voice meets Goyoson's relational
attitude, 《Dear Ghayoung》 organizes the exhibition as both a site of sharing and a field of
mediation.

Originating from the letters and works exchanged between Goyoson
in Seoul and Oh Kai in New York, the exhibition bears witness to a cycle in
which attention, practiced as habit, restores wounds and enables one to endure
loneliness.
Like Oh Kai’s stories, which contemplate the layered riddles of
life, and Goyoson’s letters, which always begin with “Dear Ghayoung,” this
exhibition, and we with it, place our faith in the endurance of relationships
themselves.
