APOproject SEOUL presents a group exhibition 《Traces of Movement》 on view through August 29.
We are in motion at every moment. Movement does not simply mean
traveling from one place to another. It unfolds and continues through time,
leaving behind its own traces along the way. The time and paths through which
movement has passed come together to form a trajectory.
Yet we often look first at what remains after movement has ceased,
rather than at the process itself. As we encounter a completed form or a scene
before our eyes, the countless changes and moments that led to it are easily
overlooked.

《Traces of Movement》 focuses on the traces
left behind by movement and the processes through which they are formed. Rather
than treating movement as a fixed result, the exhibition considers it an
ongoing process of creation and transformation in time, following the currents
that exist behind visible forms.
Here, movement is not limited to the motion of the body. The
emergence and transformation of life, the formation and fluctuation of emotion,
and the constant changes taking place within the world we inhabit are also
forms of movement.
These movements unfold through different temporalities and
methods, leaving behind distinct trajectories. Through their individual
perspectives, the three artists capture and reveal these trajectories within
their works.

The movements explored by the three artists begin from different
points, yet they intersect in the way each forms a trajectory through time.
While Omyo Cho considers the broader currents through which the world and
living beings transform, Jangho Yoon captures the emotions and sensations that
emerge and fluctuate within those currents.
Yunseo Lim, in turn, follows the tangible traces left by the
moving body. Moving from transformations of the world to the movement of
emotion, and finally to the paths inscribed by the body, the works of the three
artists reveal trajectories unfolding across different scales and
temporalities.
《Traces of Movement》 is an exhibition that
looks beyond completed outcomes toward the time and paths through which those
outcomes have come into being. What we encounter before each artwork is a
single form, yet within it are accumulated layers of movement, change, and time.
As viewers move through the exhibition, they encounter the forms
that remain before them while also tracing the movements that have led to their
formation. Through these traces, they may imagine not only movements that have
already passed, but also other trajectories that will continue to unfold.
