Nook Gallery presents a solo exhibition 《Summer Triangle》 by artist Jong Oh, on view
through July 26.
The exhibition title “Summer Triangle”
refers to an asterism that rises highest in the summer night sky and serves as
a guide to a band of stars. Like connecting stars in the vast sky to form
constellations, this exhibition presents Oh’s new works, in which he connects
points within a given space—a small universe—to draw geometric figures.

In this exhibition, Jong Oh creates
compositions using lines of white light within small, enclosed spaces. Curved
and straight lines formed by bending light rods shape the installation, while
the white light reflects off tiny particles suspended in the air, diffusing
softly throughout the space.

The lines of varying intensity, accompanied
by an aura of light, quietly reveal their presence within the given stage-like
space, letting go of the tension once conveyed by the fine lines in the
artist’s earlier works.
Viewers, whether standing inside the space
or observing it from the outside, are invited to trace the artist’s movements
during the installation process and share in the resonance it evokes.
