Artist_Global K-Art Haegue Yang’s Solo Exhibition《Leap Year》 on View Through January 18, 2026, at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich A large-scale solo exhibition by Korean artist Haegue Yang is currently on view at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich, Switzerland. Opening on September 27, 2025, and running through January 18, 2026, the exhibition brings together more than twenty years of Yang’s major works alongside new commissions. Structured as a retrospective, the show serves as the final stop in her European tour following presentations at the Hayward Gallery in London and Kunsthal Rotterdam.

Artist_Global K-Art Stephen Friedman Gallery Represents Korean Artist Yooyun Yang The Stephen Friedman Gallery in the UK now represents Korean artist Yooyun Yang (b. 1985, Korea), who is based in Korea. The artist creates paintings by layering diluted acrylic on traditional Korean paper (hanji) to control the intensity of colors. Yang’s works, featuring photographic-like compositions and repetitive motifs such as blinds, curtains, and railings, transcend reality and imagination. Her solo exhibition was held at the Stephen Friedman Gallery from June 1 to July 22, 2023.

Emerging contemporary artists Julia Jo (b. 1991) and GaHee Park (b. 1985) were recently introduced in Ocula and ARTnews, respectively. The works of Choi Wook-kyung (1940-1985) and Jung Kangja (1942-2017), whose works had a significant influence on the modern and contemporary Korean art world, will be presented in group exhibitions at the Whitechapel Gallery in the UK.

Biennale_News Binna Choi Appointed as Artistic Director for the 61st Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) has appointed curator Binna Choi as the Artistic Director for the Korean Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) in 2026. Binna Choi previously served as a curator for the 2016 Gwangju Biennale and as a co-artistic director for the 2022 Singapore Biennale. She was the Director of Casco Art Institute in the Netherlands from 2008 to 2023. She is currently serving as a co-artistic director for the Hawai‘i Triennial 2025, which runs until May 4 this year.
