PIBI Gallery will host the AI opera installation 《A Place Called You》 by the interdisciplinary art group FUTUREDAYS from November 12 to December 27.

This exhibition presents the latest work in FUTUREDAYS’ newly developed immersive intermedia opera format: a three-dimensional interactive VR piece experienced through the virtual reality headset Meta Quest 3. The “AI opera” proposed by FUTUREDAYS positions AI as the central performer and the audience as co-narrators of emotion and active participants of perception, offering a new artistic experience where sensation and technology converge.

The exhibition work A Place Called You (2024) was created based on HER, part of FUTUREDAYS’ metaverse opera series ‘The Day I Chose to Be Me – ME, YOU, HIM, HER.’ Departing from the audiovisual-centered narratives of traditional opera, the piece is designed to focus on auditory immersion and emotional flow.

The work is implemented in a real-time 3D environment built on Unity and offers a unique sensory experience by combining spatial audio rendered through binaural technology, the voices of generative AI performers, and gesture, gaze, and voice recognition technologies. This complex structure clearly embodies FUTUREDAYS’ vision: “Where XR, AI, and Art Meets the Future.”

《A Place Called You》 offers a unique opportunity to directly experience how technology and art together create a singular emotional narrative, and it presents new possibilities for contemporary modes of engaging with art.
