
The National Museum of Modern and
Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA, Director Kim Sunghee) will host the new
participatory concert MMCA × LG Electronics “Connected” on Wednesday, October
29 at 6 p.m. in the outdoor courtyard of MMCA Seoul.
“Connected” is a participatory concert themed
around “connection,” combining contemporary art and technology to convey a
message of linking “people to people, society to the individual, and reality to
the virtual.” A wide range of programs will be presented at the Seoul Museum’s
outdoor courtyard, open to participants of all ages.
The event will feature a “Talk Concert,”
inviting leading figures active in AI-, VR-, and BCI-based interdisciplinary
arts, AI empathy intelligence, fashion, and exhibition curation to share
insights on the latest technological trends and the future potential of art and
technology. It will also include a “Live Concert” featuring leading K-sound
electronic musicians and indie bands, along with exhibition tours and diverse
events, creating a vibrant autumn evening.
Organized in collaboration with LG
Electronics, the program consists of Part I, the “Talk Concert,” beginning at 6
p.m., and Part II, the “Live Concert,” starting at 7:30 p.m., accompanied by
various participatory events.

In Part I, the “Talk Concert,”
experts from various fields will present and discuss the theme: “How can AI
technology and art be connected?” Lucid Paul, a PhD engineer and
multidisciplinary artist active in ambient music, film, and exhibition sound
direction, will serve as the moderator. The keynote presentation will be
delivered by Jinjoon Lee, an international researcher at the forefront of AI-,
VR-, and BCI-based interdisciplinary arts, currently a professor at KAIST
Graduate School of Culture Technology and Director of the Art & Technology
(KATEC) Center.
Following the keynote, the session “Cases
of Technology and Art in Practice” will feature presentations by Hoyoung Choi,
Team Leader at LG Electronics AI Research Center, who has experience in AI and
mobility product planning; fashion designer HANNAH SHIN, who integrates advanced
technologies such as 3D printing and AI with traditional craft techniques; and
Leeji Hong, Curator at the MMCA, who researches cultural phenomena shaped by
changes in digital media and creative environments.
The session will conclude with a discussion
on “Current AI Issues and Future Possibilities.” Pre-registration for the event
opens on the MMCA website (mmca.go.kr) on Tuesday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m.
(first-come, first-served; free of charge).

Part II, the “Live Concert,” will
begin at 7:30 p.m. on the museum’s outdoor plaza under the theme “Sound, Art,
and Technology Connected.” The program will open with a live performance by
SUMIN, a multidisciplinary artist active as a producer, singer-songwriter, and
creative director.
Next, KIRARA, an electronic musician
recognized for her unique position in Korea’s electronic music scene and her
ability to convey “the joy of music,” will perform a DJ set to energize the
audience.
The concert will conclude with Glen Check,
a band celebrated for their sophisticated sound and strong visual direction,
known for consecutive wins in the Electronic Music category at the Korean Music
Awards with Haute Couture and Youth! Glen Check continues to perform at
domestic and international festivals, blending experimental music with a global
sensibility.
The “Live Concert” is an outdoor standing
event, open to all visitors without reservation (free admission).

Meanwhile, on October 29 (Wed), the day of
the event—which also coincides with the museum’s “Last Wednesday Free Admission
Day”—all exhibitions at MMCA Seoul will be open to the public free of charge.
These include MMCA × LG OLED Series 2025 – TZUSOO 《Agarmon
Encyclopedia: Leaked Edition》, the 《Kim Tschang-Yeul》 exhibition sponsored by LG
Electronics, as well as the permanent and special exhibitions 《MMCA Collection: Korean Contemporary Art》, 《Korea Artists Prize 2025》, and 《When I feel_》 (open from 10 a.m. until 9
p.m. for extended evening hours).
