presents a solo exhibition “Au bord de l’infini” by Myung-Joo Kim, on view through November
30. This exhibition will feature the artist's new series, encompassing
ceramics, drawings, and paintings.
Kim has presented works that reflect the
artist's inner self and personal experiences, rooted in an exploration of the
essence of human existence. The new and recent works featured in this
exhibition convey an intense celebration of life, moving beyond the
conventional binaries of good and evil, beauty and ugliness. They capture the
multifaceted nature of existence and the complexity of life.
Myung-Joo Kim (b. 1973) studied ceramics at
Hongik University and earned a master's degree from ENSAV La Cambre in
Brussels, Belgium. She currently active between Korea and Europe. She has held
solo exhibitions at KunstForum Solothurn, Switzerland (2022, 2024), and Vazieux
Art Gallery in Paris (2022). Additionally, she was invited to the Vallauris
International Ceramic Biennale (2016) and the Châteauroux International
Sculpture Biennale (2015).
Her works are held in major collections;
National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Bank in Korea, the Ariana Museum
in Geneva, and the Guozhong Ceramic Art Museum in Beijing.
Ji Yeon Lee has been working as an editor for the media art and culture channel AliceOn since 2021 and worked as an exhibition coordinator at samuso (now Space for Contemporary Art) from 2021 to 2023.
