P21 presents a group exhibition 《Unapologetic》 as its first exhibition of
2026, on view through February 28.
This exhibition brings together a wide
range of artists—from those being introduced in Korea for the first time to
figures who have gained international recognition—exploring the bodies,
emotions, labor, and identities of contemporary women through diverse media
such as painting, sculpture, and installation.
Starting from personal experiences and
intimate narratives, the participating artists candidly and boldly reveal
realms of sensation, play, and self-absorption that have historically been
denied to women.

The artists participating in the exhibition
refuse to reduce feminine existence to standards of morality and productivity,
instead recalling it as that of a human animal endowed with flesh and
sensation.
The self-absorption and self-affirmation
revealed in their works function as sensory practices for affirming life in its
entirety, calling attention to pleasure and freedom as essential sensations
that sustain existence.

《Unapologetic》
unfolds, across diverse media and languages, the layered ways in which women’s
experiences and bodies, emotions and labor, and identities are formed and
regulated. Moving beyond the moral standards imposed on women and another form
of self-censorship disguised as political correctness, the exhibition reclaims
the right to fully enjoy and desire one’s given life.
It declares that feminine subjects can
exist through their own sensations and desires without seeking external
approval, offering an invitation to affirm life excessively—yet abundantly.
