Art Centre Art Moment presents a special
exhibition 《Another New Hope》, on view through September 19.
This exhibition reflects on the landscapes
shaped by the “paradise” envisioned through Korea’s industrialization and
modernization, while questioning what was gained, what was lost, and what
remains unresolved in that pursuit.
It revisits the significance of the drive
toward a life "free from poverty"—an ideal that defined Korea’s
period of rapid economic growth—and draws attention to the realities and
histories that were obscured in the process.

What does it mean to live with hope in an age when many people
feel they have lost a sense of direction? This exhibition examines the ways we
navigate the present across historical, social, collective, and personal
dimensions, while asking where a “new hope” might still be found among us.
To
explore this question, the exhibition focuses on Geumcheon and the former Guro
Industrial Complex—emblems of Korea’s industrialization—and traces their
transformation into today’s Seoul Digital Industrial Complex.
Bringing
together six of the inaugural resident artists of Seoul Art Space Geumcheon, a
visual arts residency located in Geumcheon-gu—Heaven Baek, Yo Daham, Changhoon
Lee, IM Heung-soon, Jeongju Jeong, and Jeamin Cha—the exhibition offers a
multifaceted reflection on the region, labor, and industrialization through
their artistic practices.
