Korean sculptor and installation artist Gwon Osang’s New Structure series, one of his signature works, is exhibited from July 25 to October 25 at Rotunda, Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort (“INSPIRE”)’s circular multi-purpose hall with a kinetic chandelier.

INSPIRE has selected Gwon Osang’s works for its inaugural project of the ‘INSPIRE Art Series’, created to introduce Korean art culture (K-art) and Korean artists to global audience. Gwon Osang is an artist who has created a sensation in the local and international art scene through his method of creating three-dimensional sculptures from two-dimensional photographs. His works, created by his unique method of transcending dimensions, are highly appreciated by art connoisseurs for their accessibility to a wide audience.

In this exhibition, the artist presents a total of seven works from the New Structure series. New Structure is characterized by the reinterpretation of flat objects found in everyday life into three-dimensional sculptural forms. These works, created by transforming enlarged images into three-dimensional objects, display unique spatial characteristics that change depending on the viewer’s perspective, like a prism.

“I am delighted to hold the largest exhibition of New Structure at INSPIRE since my solo exhibition at Arario Gallery, which was the first revelation of New Structure in Korea. The exhibition will be held at Rotunda, a circular space where visitors can fully appreciate the diverse facets of New Structure, to deliver an exhibition that brings new perspectives and meanings,” said Gwon Osang.
