Ayoung Kim’s global exploits continue at her first solo exhibition in the U.S., 《Delivery Dancer Codex》 at MoMA PS1, on view through March 16, 2026.

MoMA PS1, renowned institution devoted to highlighting experimental and boundary-pushing works in contemporary art, will present Kim’s exhibition curated by Ruba Katrib, Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs. 《Delivery Dancer Codex》 marks Kim’s first solo exhibition in the U.S., and also the first time various works from her celebrated ‘Delivery Dancer’ (2022–ongoing) series will be shown together.

The word “codex” in the title conjoins multiple references: ancient tablet manuscripts, Medieval parchment-bound books, and scriptures listing decrees and knowledge, as well as game concept books and a term designating compilations of code in contemporary programming culture. Through the symbolic figure of the “delivery dancer” in her trilogy, she interrogates key themes of the gig economy and platform labor, theories of parallel universe, quantum physics, the hypervigilance of the delivery riders, and the accelerationist urge to optimize body, time and space.

The exhibition centers on Delivery Dancer’s Sphere (2022), Delivery Dancer’s Arc 0° Receiver (2024), and Delivery Dancer’s Arc: Inverse (2024), presented as monumental installations spanning the MoMA PS1’s entire third floor.

In particular, Delivery Dancer’s Arc: Inverse, which received the ACC Future Prize at the National Asian Culture Center, Korea, is staged in its original iteration in its full form, comprising a three-channel video installation, sundial installation, calendar graphic sheets, and synchronized light controls.

The presentational includes a selection of her key works including Evening Peak Time Is Back, ‘Orbit Dance’ series, Ghost Dancer A & B, and Stipulation (all 2022).
