The second exhibition, 《Conditions》, by Yuryeong, a gallery that operates by moving through new spaces
without a fixed location, is on view through September 18 at A gallery, located
on the basement level 1 of Aiden by Best Western Cheongdam.
Held to coincide with Frieze Seoul 2026, the exhibition features
nine artists based in Korea and abroad, presenting approximately 160 works
across various media and materials, including painting, printmaking, sculpture,
and installation.

《Conditions》 is an exhibition that focuses
not on defining a single identity, but on the various conditions that
constitute an individual. Gender and sexual orientation, labor and livelihood,
education and environment, family and religion, taste and class are not separate
elements, but constantly intersect to shape an individual’s attitudes,
sensibilities, and artistic practice.
The exhibition examines how the conditions of life shape the
languages of different artistic practices, presenting the attitudes that
artists today have developed within their respective circumstances. The
distinct perspectives and approaches shaped by these differing conditions
intersect within a single exhibition, and 《Conditions》 presents the contemporary landscape that emerges from these
encounters.

This exhibition takes the lifestyle boutique hotel Aiden by Best
Western Cheongdam as its physical body. While Yuryeong’s first exhibition, 《First Body》, transformed a model house that
had served its purpose after being sold into an exhibition space, 《Conditions》 embraces a hotel designed for
temporary stays as another body.
Yuryeong’s mode of operation, which does not maintain a fixed
space, continues in this exhibition. The venue itself becomes one of the
conditions that shape the works and the viewing experience, serving as another
body of the exhibition.
