The 15th Gwangju Biennale's British Council-Korea Foundation Pavilion exhibition, “Spectres of Our Own Making,” is on view at the Ha Jung-woong Museum of Art until December 1. The exhibition is a result of exchanges between the UK and Korea and is co-hosted by the Korea Foundation and the British Council.

Curator Ritika Biswas invites viewers to reflect on the impact of pervasive injustice and inequality on humanity, transcending species, body, geography, and class in the face of an apocalyptic crisis caused by climate change. The works in the exhibition will blur the boundaries between the physical and the non-physical, giving viewers the opportunity to see the world from a new perspective.

The artworks in this pavilion are primarily from the three annual iterations of the UK-Korea Creative Commission for Climate grants from 2021-2024, along with other independent installations, and include Bang & Lee, D-Fuse, Shezad Dawood, Sye-min Park & Seung-hee Choi, and Haroon Mirza & Helga Dóróthea Fannon. Through their works, the artists cross the ecosystems of Korea and the UK to offer deep reflections on the ongoing climate crisis.
