To mark its 35th anniversary, the Korea
Foundation (KF) presents the special exhibition 《Meta
Platform: Generative Connections》, through May 15,
simultaneously at the KF Gallery and the KF Global Center Metaverse (www.kf.or.kr/metaverse).
The exhibition, a hybrid media art showcase
that combines online and offline experiences, introduces a new exhibition
format that connects the KF Gallery with a metaverse platform. This approach
explores new possibilities for exchange and communication beyond the
limitations of time and space.

The exhibition features ten artists from
the Korean women’s media artist group MediaSonyo (meaning “media girls”). The
participating artists (Minyoung Kim, Bosul Kim, Sey Min, Je-un Park, SEOHYOm
Yaloo, Inhwa Yeom, Jooyoung Oh, Yoon Chung Han, and SunJeong Hwang) present
works that explore contemporary sensibilities and the meaning of interaction,
based on generative media and digital technologies.
“MediaSonyo” is not a fixed collective but
a network-based community that unfolds processes of relationships and
interactions through its work, grounded in algorithmic thinking and generative
technologies. Their practice prioritizes processes of change and participation
over finished outcomes, revealing the continually emerging nature of
relationships within digital environments.

The exhibition title “Meta Platform” refers
not to a virtual space that replaces reality, but to an expanded field that
operates in parallel with physical space, generating new points of contact. In
doing so, it highlights how relationships are not fixed forms but are
continuously produced and extended across diverse conditions and environments.
Within an exhibition environment that
traverses both online and offline realms, visitors are invited to move beyond
the role of passive viewers and instead participate as agents in the process of
relationship-making. Through this experience, the exhibition aims to offer an
embodied understanding of new possibilities for public diplomacy and expanded
modes of exchange in the digital age.
