Incheon Art Platform is presenting the special exhibition 《Interrogative AI》, which poses artistic questions about artificial intelligence (AI), through February 1. Supported by the Institut Français, the exhibition is an international media show featuring nine artist teams from four countries—Korea, France, Taiwan, and Singapore.

The exhibition artistically explores how artificial intelligence, which has permeated everyday life in the era following the internet and smartphones, is reshaping human perception and ways of living.

As AI reshapes not only industry but society at large—often described as “the most significant human event since the Industrial Revolution”—it has also become a focal point of debate in the art world, raising questions around authorship, creative agency, copyright, and the boundaries between original and copy.

Against this backdrop, the exhibition revisits the fundamental questions posed by technological advancement through the language of art.

Rather than simply presenting works that use AI technology or showcasing the visual spectacle or strangeness of AI-generated images, it treats as objects of inquiry the ethical issues of the AI era, relationships between human and nonhuman agents, the climate crisis and colonial histories, the scope of creative agency, and the complex entanglements between art and technological progress.

《Interrogative AI》 demonstrates how artists living in the age of AI reflect on the social, ethical, and historical issues concealed behind the sheen of technological sophistication. Unlike AI, which merely responds to commands and neither asks questions nor creates of its own accord, humans possess curiosity, the capacity for doubt, and the power of imagination. The exhibition thus paradoxically underscores humanity’s ability to confront social issues and its will to bring about change.
