The Seoul National University Museum of Art
is presenting the group exhibition 《Dimensionalists:
Poetry·Image·Score·Code》 through November 23.
This exhibition explores a cross-section of
contemporary art through the worlds constructed by nine artists in distinct
ways. Here, “dimension” goes beyond mere physical space to encompass the
conditions of technology, the frameworks through which art is perceived, and
the modes by which works are experienced.

The exhibition features works composed of
diverse media and formats—including poetry, image, score, and code, as well as
narrative, light, and sound. These move toward new territories that cannot be
fully captured by familiar classifications such as “painting,” “sculpture,”
“installation,” “media art,” or “sound art.”
Today, we encounter images and objects,
historical symbols and popular culture alike through printed matter and canvas,
displays, earphones, and smartphones. The exhibited works have been created
through close observation and thoughtful response to precisely this landscape.

By revealing in concrete terms how
technology, metaphor, and meaning intertwine, 《Dimensionalists:
Poetry·Image·Score·Code》 goes beyond simple
technological determinism, offering audiences an impetus to actively reflect on
the mechanisms of life itself.
