Mimesis Art Museum presents a special
exhibition “o’Object” as its first exhibition of 2025, on view through March
30.
This
exhibition focuses on the artistic achievements gained through each artist's
deep engagement in painterly experimentation, projecting their unique themes
onto the visual subjects they are currently exploring. It also highlights the
recurring "objects" often found in the contexts they immerse
themselves in.
Participating
artists Kim Jiwon, Jung Jungyeob, Hong Kyoungtack, and Young-sung Kim use their
chosen subjects as intermediaries to unfold their narratives or delve into
their inner worlds, constantly transforming the roles of these objects rather
than fixing them.
Objects
such as cockscomb flowers, stationery, and grains—ordinary items easily
encountered in daily life—are reimagined on canvas through the intentional
focus and meticulous effort of the artists. Their deliberate act of drawing,
requiring high levels of precision and patience, brings these subjects to life
in fascinating and captivating forms.
