Artist JSUK HAN: The Art of ‘Feedback’ Through the Resonance of Light, Sound, and Space
JSUK HAN (b. 1990) has been creating sculptures, installations, and sound performances using audio devices such as speakers and microphones that he collects or builds himself. In particular, he is interested in Generative Art and Mono-ha, and has been developing works that embody feedback loops—often imperceptible in everyday life—as forms of communication through light and sound, vibration and resonance within space.

Artist Chang Hanna: On the Interwoven Today’s Realities of the Natural and the Artificial
Chang Hanna (b. 1988) is interested in the various desires humans possess and explores through her work how those desires return to us in different ways. In particular, she focuses on the phenomenon in which artificial objects produced by human desire and capital become part of nature and take on new forms. She reveals her collected, observed, and researched findings on this subject through photography, drawing, installation, video, and other media.

BYR Prime Elements by artist Kim Heejo (b. 1980) is a group of circle-shaped paintings comprising ninety-nine units. The work consists of thirty-three “Blue,” “Yellow,” and “Red” pieces that are an inch (2.54 cm) thick and have a diameter of 18 inches (45.72 cm), designed to rotate 360 degrees.

As an intermediary for the development of Korean contemporary arts, Jasan Cultural Foundation established Jasan Art Award to support competent Korean artists’ activities at domestic and abroad. The 1st winner of Jasan Art Award, Yongbaek Lee, is working in various genres including media art, installation, sculpture, and painting, expecting his work in the future.

Funded as a tribute to the memory of the late Sungkon Kim, also known by his pen-name Sungkok, the Sungkok Art Museum has launched a special project for young emerging Korean artists, ‘Artists of Tomorrow’ since 1998. In honor of his lifelong commitment to cultivating young Korean talents, The exhibition 《Awardees, 1998-2007》 seeks to echo both the traditions and future-oriented ideals of Korean modern art.
