It may be apt to begin this text with 〈All this way to meet you〉(2022). This form, composed of metal chain and plastic clay, harbors two (secret) spaces. There is an internal space where the structurally autonomous chain and materially present clay must come together.

[Critique] Art in Practice after Sewol Ferry Disaster
“It will be cloudy across the country with rains in many places in the southern regions.”Those were the words formed by the immaculate cut–up strips of metal foil neatly arranged on the window. Then the sky gradually grew darker, and it really began to rain. As the raindrops began to glide down the glass window against the sullen scenery outside, the overlapping sentence took on an uncanny meaning. I found myself reading the same sentence over and over again.

"I dream a lot" says Hyunsun Jeon. In her paintings, she tries to capture the diffuse feelings that persist when you wake up, when what remains of your dreams are impressions, colours and hybrid shapes – impossible syntheses of real memories. But Jeon's painting, however dreamlike, is above all driven by a concrete quest: what is an image, what is representation ?
