sangheeut presents a solo exhibition 《Pieces of》 by Seounghee Lee, on view through
March 29.
Working
across painting, sculpture, and installation, Lee explores the relational
dynamics between humans and non-humans and the possibilities of coexistence.
This exhibition centers on a new series of bronze sculptures inspired by
folktales and imagery of dogs across cultures, alongside print works in
sculptural frames.

Marking
her first foray into bronze, the exhibition not only expands Lee’s sculptural
language—previously rooted in digital processes—but also reflects her desire to
embed the aspirations and intentions of her creative process into a material
with permanence.

Rooted in histories, cultural references,
and evolving relationships between humans and animals, Lee’s works are deeply
collaborative in nature. Whether exploring the intimate bond between dogs and
humans, the intersections of myth and contemporary digital aesthetics, or the
broader cultural frameworks that shape our understanding of the non-human
world, her practice ultimately seeks to uncover something warm and
enduring—even in the midst of uncertainty.
Ji Yeon Lee has been working as an editor for the media art and culture channel AliceOn since 2021 and worked as an exhibition coordinator at samuso (now Space for Contemporary Art) from 2021 to 2023.
