Gangneung Museum of Art presents a solo exhibition 《The End of the World and Missed Calls》, by artist Seol Euna, on view through March 30. Seol Euna, a first-generation web art artist in Korea, presents an interactive storytelling project in this exhibition, focusing on the theme of marginalized communication.

Using analog telephones as a medium, this project has connected countless conversations over the past six years, amassing approximately 130,000 calls. The artist created a performance film that releases these accumulated voices in "Ushuaia, Iceland," often referred to as the end of the world. This film was selected as a nominee in the international competition and documentary sections of the Tampere Film Festival, one of the world's top three short film festivals.

The voices collected in this exhibition will also be dispersed in Iceland after the exhibition ends. Believing that fragments of genuine communication, when connected, have the power to heal, the artist has been gathering stories that remain as missed calls—words left unsaid.

Seol Euna was the first Korean to win the Gold Lion in the Cyber category at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and received the Presidential Commendation at the 2019 Korea Design Awards.
