Korean gallery Jason Haam presents a group
exhibition “Karma II”, featuring works by Jihyoung Han, Jungwook Kim, and Mike
Lee, at Unit 7 of Carlos/Ishikawa on view through February 15.
This exhibition is part of “Condo London
2025,” a city-wide collaborative exhibition featuring 49 galleries across 22
spaces. Jason Haam is the only Korean gallery participating in Condo London
2025.

Jihyoung
Han (b. 1994), who has been working with painting as her primary medium, reimagines
the extreme futures of a world where today’s issues have grown to dystopian
proportions, yet with a playful twist. Han’s dystopia, however, is not merely a
space of despair; rather, it brims with an uncanny optimism, where destruction
is reinterpreted as a new way of surviving.
Jungwook
Kim (b. 1970) explores a complex interplay between physical, conceptual, and
transcendental realities, through the lens of Korean ink painting using the
cosmos as a unifying theme. Meanwhile, Mike Lee (b. 1983)’s paintings are
filled with graphic elements, highlighting his personal narrative. More recent
works by the artist have been further contextualized to explore his own
identity as a self, influenced by his upbringing as a second-generation
immigrant in the United States. In the process, his works serve as a visual
language that appeals to the concept of intimacy.
