About The Work

Holding the canvas with both hands, the middle finger and the broken branch, not knowing where it came from, are tied with a short green rope. Even if the tree is broken, it appears as if it is alive. One of the most important concepts in understanding Lee Jinju’s work is the ‘Jeonsinsajo’, which expresses not only the appearance but also the spirit of the character. In this work, the concept of ‘Jeonsinsajo’ is applied not only to humans but also to trees.
