Museumhead presents 《Problems In Need (PIN)》 from October 22 to November 21, 2026. Bringing together six critics and six artists, the exhibition examines what might be identified as a “problem” in contemporary Korean art.
 
The exhibition begins with an invitation to examine problems before proposing solutions. Through criticism and artworks, it explores how certain phenomena come to be understood as problems within art and society, and the contexts and conditions in which they emerge.
 
Museumhead invited six critics—NAM Woong, SEO Dong-jin, YOON Wonhwa, LEE Hyein, CHOI Taehoon, and HWANG Jaemin—to each identify a question they consider significant in contemporary Korean art and recommend an artist with whom to explore it. The resulting pairings are NAM Woong x YANG Seungwook, SEO Dong-jin x BAN Jaeha, YOON Wonhwa x KIM Donghee, LEE Hyein x JEONG Juwon, CHOI Taehoon x LEE Yewon, and HWANG Jaemin x CHOI Miae.
 
《PIN》 is structured around these connections between critical perspectives and artistic practices. Through six pairings that begin from different viewpoints, the exhibition offers a way to explore various aspects of Korean art today.
 
Here, “problems” are not limited to social conflicts or explicitly political issues. Artistic expression and perception, images and language, and the institutions and environments surrounding artworks can also become subjects of inquiry. By considering the critics’ perspectives alongside the artists’ practices, visitors can trace how each question takes shape and develops through the works.
 
The exhibition will also be accompanied by 《Problematic Conversations》, a discussion program featuring critics, artists, and invited speakers. Held on Fridays or Saturdays during the exhibition period, the program will extend the questions raised in the exhibition into conversation and debate.
 
Bringing different critical perspectives and artistic practices together, 《PIN》 provides an opportunity to examine questions facing contemporary Korean art.
