“URBAN BREAK 2023” will be held from July 13 to July 16 at COEX Hall B in Samseong-dong. This year, 45 galleries are participating, and more than 3,000 works by 350 artists will be on display.

This year’s “URBAN BREAK 2023” is organized into various sections, including ‘KAWS: Unveiled’ where you can see 110 pieces of figures, paintings, posters, and LPs by the famous American pop artist KAWS, and the ‘Art Toy Village,’ where the first generation of Korean art toy artists, Coolrain, Uptempo, Tobei, Amaz, and Ha Jonghoon, created a village-like space. In addition, ‘The Art of Hip Hop’, co-curated with the Museum of Graffiti in the United States to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, is organized into nine themes to showcase the visual art that can be found in hip-hop.

Tattoos and other subcultures and has become a playground for the MZ generation. This year’s theme is ‘Crazy Experience’ which focuses on ‘experience’ as audience-participatory exhibitions have recently become a trend. We focused on making the audience experience various things and feel visual art with their bodies.”
