Palais de Tokyo, an acclaimed contemporary art museum in Paris, is presenting “My Serial Thinking (Ma Pensée Sérielle),” the first French retrospective of the leading Swiss contemporary artist Miriam Cahn (b. 1949).

Miriam Cahn, who gained attention from the international art world since the 1980s, creates surreal and shocking images of the fragile human form. Her paintings draw from personal experiences, family memories, and observations of contemporary society, and connect to sociopolitical issues such as femininity, gender, love, sexuality, violence, anti-Semitism, war, and rape.

Miriam Cahn is considered one of the most important artists in contemporary art and has exhibited at leading European institutions, including last year’s Venice Biennale.
